This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Roehampton Man and Van has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights and ensure ethical practices across all aspects of our removals and transport services.

Our Zero-Tolerance Approach

Roehampton Man and Van maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, child labour, and any exploitation of vulnerable people. We are committed to conducting our business in a manner that respects the dignity and rights of every individual who works with or for us.

All employees, contractors, and management are required to adhere to this policy. Any breach or suspected breach of our stance on modern slavery is treated as a serious misconduct issue and may lead to disciplinary action, including termination of contracts where appropriate.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Roehampton Man and Van provides man and van, removals, and related transport services. Our supply chains primarily include vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and certain subcontracted drivers or labour providers. We acknowledge that, while our business is relatively local and straightforward, risks of labour exploitation can arise at any stage of the supply chain.

We are committed to understanding these risks and working closely with suppliers to ensure that modern slavery has no place in our operations.

Due Diligence and Supplier Audits

We undertake proportionate due diligence on new and existing suppliers, particularly where labour-intensive services or lower-skilled work are involved. Our expectations on modern slavery and ethical conduct are communicated clearly during the selection and onboarding process.

Where we consider the risk to be higher, we conduct more detailed checks, which may include requesting information about a supplier’s own modern slavery policies, workforce practices, right-to-work procedures, and training. We also reserve the right to carry out audits or request evidence of compliance from suppliers and subcontractors.

If a supplier is unable or unwilling to demonstrate that they are taking adequate steps to prevent modern slavery, Roehampton Man and Van will review the relationship and, where necessary, seek to end the arrangement in a responsible manner.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

Roehampton Man and Van encourages all employees, agency workers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions about modern slavery or unethical labour practices, whether within our own operations or in our supply chains.

Concerns can be raised directly with a line manager or senior manager, or through internal reporting channels made available by the company. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will take all allegations seriously, investigate promptly and fairly, and take appropriate action where wrongdoing is identified.

We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is later found to be unfounded.

Training and Awareness

We aim to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, especially those involved in recruitment, supplier management, and day-to-day operations. Training and guidance are designed to help colleagues recognise possible indicators of exploitation and understand how to respond appropriately.

By continuously improving knowledge and awareness, we strengthen our ability to prevent and identify potential issues at an early stage.

Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review

Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the company’s senior management, who ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, and checks are in place. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through feedback from staff, supplier assessments, and any incidents or reports received.

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually to reflect any changes in our business, legal requirements, and best practice. As part of the review, we consider whether further actions, training, or controls are required to strengthen our approach and reduce any identified risks.

This statement has been approved by the management of Roehampton Man and Van and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and protecting human rights throughout our operations and supply chains.
